Contract Close-out: Myths and Realities for Cost-Type Contracts

Overview

A discussion of the regulatory requirements, roles and responsibilities, and what should go right, but what can go wrong in terms of getting to contract close-out on cost-type contracts. Coincidentally the topic of a 2017 DCAA Audit Alert (Final Voucher Services) and a long history of regulatory attempts to streamline a process to more efficiently, timely and predictably achieve the mutual goal (contractor and government) of the final administrative action in the life of a cost-type contract.

During the CFO Roundtable we plan to discuss issues from the floor primarily, so we invite you to bring “hypothetical scenarios” for discussion in an environment comprised of your industry peers. 

We will have a variety of CFOs represented from many industries, and hope this diverse group will provide a sounding board and floor for discussion of practical solutions to issues we all face in the day-to-day management of our organizations. 

In addition to the open, roundtable format we have also prepared a few case scenarios to spur conversation, and welcome and look forward to your discussion as well as the insight from the roundtable chair, Mike Steen from Redstone GCI’s practice.
