The Great Cycle Challenge 2024
Together we are riding to fight childhood cancer
Gerald Russell’s Story
This September, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer! Why? Because right now, cancer is the biggest killer of children from disease in the United States. Over 15,700 children are diagnosed every year, and sadly, 38 children die of cancer every week. Kids should be living life, not fighting for it. So, I am raising funds through my challenge to help these kids and support the Children’s Cancer Research Fund to allow them to continue their work to develop lifesaving treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve. Your support will change little lives.
About The Great Cycle Challenge
The Great Cycle Challenge, benefiting the Children’s Cancer Research Fund, started in 2015, and after ten years, the event has grown to become one of the biggest cycling events in the United States. People of all ages and abilities, and from every state across the country, set themselves a personal riding goal and challenge themselves to pedal to fight kids’ cancer. In 10 years, our community of riders from all 50 states has ridden a total of 33,817,103 miles, and together, we’ve raised $72,646,876 in support of research to develop better treatments and find a cure for childhood cancer. Why? Because over 15,700 American children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and sadly, 38 children die every week. We’re riding to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve, and we believe anyone can make their personal impact to fight cancer and save little lives. So we’re calling on all Americans to get on their bikes this September and join our movement to kick cancer’s butt!
About Children’s Cancer Research Fund
Children’s Cancer Research Fund is a national nonprofit dedicated to ending childhood cancer. Our main focus is to support the research of bright scientists across the country whose ideas can make the greatest impact for children fighting cancer. We also fund resources and programs that help kids and families as they navigate the difficult experience of cancer treatment and survivorship. Since 1981, we’ve contributed over $233 million to research, support programs for children and families, and awareness and education outreach. In our January 1 to December 31, 2022 fiscal year, 81 percent of funds raised went directly to these program services areas.
