Redstone GCI is excited to announce the addition of Scott Henry, CPA to our team. Scott joins us as a Senior Managing Consultant with more than 30 years of experience in private industry and public accounting. He specializes in monthly accounting services and support of clients in a diverse range of commonly used government contractor accounting systems. His specialty areas include assisting clients with their development of compliant accounting systems, preparing and assisting with financial audits (including financial statements, DCAA, and other government agencies), assistance with proposal pricing and cost volumes, and interim CFO/Controller duties, as well as assisting contractors after contract award with cost accounting, indirect rate structures, payroll and general accounting functions in both Unanet and Costpoint. Scott works on incurred cost proposals, indirect rate calculation and analysis, proposals, audit compliance, and general accounting functions, including assisting in the month and year-end close-out process for Redstone GCI’s clients.
Redstone GCI is excited to have Scott on our team, and his expertise was sought specifically in response to our client’s requests for support in the accounting/compliance area. We believe a full outsourced accounting solution for all but the smallest companies is a long-term liability for our clients. Too often, we have seen clients dependent upon their outsourced accounting solution long beyond where it made sense from a financial or maturity perspective. Instead, we work collaboratively with our clients’ existing accounting staff to assist with periods of rapid growth, as well as develop processes and practices to facilitate long-term growth and maturity through a combination of SME support from our team and employee accounting staff as growth dictates. We have had great success with this approach within Human Resources, Contract Administration, DCAA Compliance, Proposal Pricing Support, and other back-office areas. Scott’s experience with Deltek Costpoint and Unanet will be an invaluable resource to many of our small to mid-sized government contractors that will complement our firm’s existing strengths. Scott will work as part of the larger Redstone GCI team providing strategic support that includes monthly accounting and contract reporting cycle, DCAA compliance, software implementation, HR and contracts management, and other teams supporting our clients from other areas within our firm. He is currently supporting multiple clients with the month-end review, process improvement, audit preparedness, and other initiatives designed to get the most out of our client’s accounting infrastructure today and mature processes to support long-term growth for tomorrow.
