Director

Pam Berry is a Director within Redstone GCI’s Collaborative Accounting Group, based in Huntsville, AL. With over 40 years in accounting, Pam has dedicated 35 years of her career to the government contracting industry, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Pam has managed complex financial systems, led system conversions, and overseen comprehensive ac-counting departments. Her strategic insights and management skills have supported audits, incurred cost proposals, and pricing efforts, making her a valuable leader at Redstone GCI.

Professional Experience

Pam’s journey in accounting began over four decades ago when she initially supported an Industrial Tool Company and later worked as an accountant for two hospitals. Her drive for further education led her to the Babcock Graduate School of Management, where she obtained her MBA while simultaneously working part-time for a major tobacco company.

Upon completing her MBA, Pam transitioned into the government contracting sector, where she served as the Lead Financial Accountant for a large contractor. In this role, she demonstrated her adeptness in managing complex financial systems by planning and implementing the conversion of two accounting systems into Deltek System One. Her proficiency in system conversions and upgrades has been a significant asset, with her participation in numerous system conversion upgrades, including acting as a beta site.

Pam’s career progressed with increasing responsibilities, supporting both large and small government contractors. Notably, she served as the Controller for a shared services organization for fourteen years. During her tenure, the organization expanded from supporting three companies to over twenty-five, highlighting her capability in managing growth and complexity.

In her various roles, Pam has managed comprehensive accounting departments encompassing general ledger, payroll, billing, accounts payable, and travel personnel. Her leadership ensured the provision of crucial financial information to assist management, executives, and other stakeholders in making informed economic decisions. Pam’s responsibilities extended to maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.

A significant aspect of Pam’s career has been her role as the primary point of contact with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) at most of her employers. She has adeptly supported audits, incurred cost proposals, and pricing efforts, ensuring compliance and financial integrity.
