RCGI-2019-Executive-Changes-at-Redstone-GCI-Press-Release

[HUNTSVILLE, AL, October 1, 2019] — Redstone Government Consulting, a national leader in supporting the government contracting Industry, is pleased to share an update on the continued growth of the firm.  Since 2012, Redstone GCI’s staff of compliance, software, accounting, HR and contracts management professionals has grown at an unprecedented rate, thanks to the trust and support of our over 500 clients throughout the U.S.

New Additions

John Shire – We are proud to announce the addition of John Shire to our team of experts.  John worked at DCAA and DCMA for more than 30 years, where he retired as an SES, before joining our firm.   John will primarily be working with our clients on issues relating to DFARS business systems, CAS, and DCAA/DCMA compliance preparation, advisory, and defense. His experience with both DCMA and DCAA is of great value to our clients.  With the recent DCAA “catch-up” of the incurred cost submission backlog, we have seen the agency pivot to a renewed emphasis on business systems audits.  John’s experience as the Corporate Audit Director for a top-3 U.S. Government prime contractor brings enhanced depth to the already considerable expertise of our firm.

Internal Promotions

Redstone GCI made several well-deserved internal promotions earlier this year. At Redstone GCI, we are extremely grateful to our team’s dedication to the firm and level of service their longevity brings to our client relationships. Kimberly Basden, Charlie Hamm and Laura Keith were all promoted this year, and together they represent over 30 years of firm-specific experience assisting Redstone GCI clients.

Laura Keith has been promoted to a Senior Manager. Laura has 20-years of experience in public accounting and has been with Redstone GCI since our days at Beason & Nalley. Her background in financial statement accounting and matters related to GAAP is extremely valuable to our team and clients. Laura will be leading engagements related to due diligence, transaction advisory, internal controls and DFARS Business Systems and other areas of government and financial compliance.  The Redstone GCI management team is extremely appreciative of Laura and her dedication to the firm and our clients.

Kimberly Basden was promoted to a managing consultant with our small business accounting group. Kimberly has spent over a decade with Redstone GCI and assists clients with a wide array of services related to the small business contractor. In her role, Kimberly frequently assists with pre- and post-award accounting system audit, incurred cost preparation and audit, general accounting, budgeting and forward pricing, DCAA audit preparation and defense, and matters related to contract close out. The Redstone GCI management team is excited to see Kimberly’s continued growth within our firm.

Charlie Hamm was promoted to a managing consultant with our proposal pricing group. Charlie started with our firm at its founding and since he has worked directly with many on our team to develop a focus in pricing of federal government contracts. Charlie’s financial and legal background makes him uniquely suited to digest and articulate complex RFP requirements for our clients. He frequently leads cost volume preparation and color team reviews and assists with interpretation of requirements outside of the cost volume. Proposals are often complex, time sensitive and require an extreme degree of detail and the Redstone GCI management team is thankful to have Charlie supporting our clients.

About Redstone Government Consulting, Inc.

Redstone GCI is a consulting firm focused on fulfilling the needs of government contractors in all areas of compliance. With a singular mission to help contractors through the multiple layers of “red tape,” we allow contractors to focus on what they do best – support their mission with the U.S. Government. We are home to a group of consultants made up of GovCon industry professionals, CPAs, attorneys, and retired government audit and acquisition professionals. From humble beginnings, as a small group of core individuals with a goal of providing DCAA/DCMA compliance and audit support, we have grown to a firm of over 30 professionals, with expertise extending well beyond our initial goal, now supporting compliance needs in most areas of a contractor’s back-office. One thing our clients can be certain of is that with the Redstone GCI Team in your corner, there is no problem too big and no issue too technical for our team to tackle.
