Redstone GCI is excited to announce the addition of Dylan McMurrey to our team. Dylan is joining the Redstone GCI team as a Senior Consultant. Dylan joins our team with a diverse background in public accounting where he has supported a variety of businesses including government contractors, as well as commercial companies in the retail, manufacturing and other industries. His role included support with accounting and taxation functions including many organizations operating in multiple states. Dylan has supported clients in numerous accounting systems, including QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Unanet and has developed a wealth of experience in managing the full cycle of accounting functions for clients, including execution and review of the monthly close process. In addition to regular day-to-day accounting processing, Dylan has also supported project efforts such as accounting system clean-up and restructuring, and he is eager to apply those skills in supporting Redstone GCI clients.
Dylan’s addition to our team is in response to growing demand from our clients for accounting support services and follows a similar client initiated support in areas tangential to our core government contract consulting support, including contract management, human resources, software implementation, property management and other areas frequently encountered in the back office of the government contractor. For many years, we have seen clients become reliant on full outsourced accounting to the point that it prohibits growth when they inevitably outgrow the outsourced solution. We believe that it is imperative that government contractors grow and develop in-house expertise early in their company’s life, so that as growth happens, they are ready for the next level including DFARS Business Systems and the Cost Accounting Standards. All of the services offered in the collaborative accounting area of our practice include team members from our compliance team to ensure support provided meets applicable regulatory (FAR, CAS, DFARS, et al.) and DCAA audit expectations. We work collaboratively with our clients to develop solutions based on their needs and budgets that allow them to focus on their customer. Our services encourage collaboration with the existing client accounting team with our staff providing advice, guidance and education to grow the knowledge of our client’s personnel. The collaborative accounting practice at Redstone GCI offers full monthly accounting support on an as needed basis and includes monthly/quarterly reviews or, when needed, full accounting/bookkeeping support.
